Book: A Million Miles in a Thousand Years by Donald Miller

Rating: Great

Lesson Learned: We are living a story

We are living a story started by a creator and it is our responsibility on what kind of stories we live. The book equates our lives with a narrative. It is interesting to see that everything is a narrative for our generation…what’s that about?

Blue Like Jazz was Miller’s original memoir but it is interesting reading this one post mega success. I feel for him as an author but some of it rings hollow knowing how much he is making on his books and speaking. For example the guy does a lot of stuff that isn’t realistic for someone who has to work for a living (3 month bike ride). Its not bad, it’s just the way it is (I’m looking for the same success). I’d like to meet him and tease him about it, “Hey Miller! Is it hard to be rich and quasi-bohemian?” He seems to get his feelings hurt easy so he may not warm up to me if I do that.)
